The Ruby Pickers is based on a prospecting community that Nicola visited during her travels through Malaysia. The clay terraces bustle with figures bent over the rippling pools of water as they ‘sieve’ for their fortunes.
The picture was executed over three days in her studio in Porthleven, Cornwall. |
