Susanna works in charcoal and pastels often finding colour in the subtleties of the simple mediums she uses. She has drawn and painted since her degree from the Slade School of Art in 1990.

Her figurative work is often over many sessions and takes many weeks before the ‘essence’ of her model is found through rubbing out and re drawing, this exploration goes on until an almost three dimensional model of the sitter is on the paper.

Susanna works from a studio in North London and is currently painting and creating installations “working from life and drawing over many years has informed my current paintings and allowed me to move on with my art.”
