This portrait of Susanna's regular model, was filmed after she had drawn John almost every day for a year.

Her familiarity with his face can be seen during the extremely revealing struggle she has, finding the structure of his features.

After three weeks of work, Susanna’s relentless rubbing out and putting back of lines, finds the shape and the portrait realises.
